Show Transcript

Carl:
All right. Welcome back to another exciting edition of the Make Your Dog Epic Tulsa Dog Training podcast. On today’s podcast, we’re talking about, specifically, a highly controversial concept here, James. James, this is the kind of mind-melting, controversial topic that you don’t hear about on other dog training podcasts. What is the best dog training that Tulsa, Oklahoma, has to offer? What is the best training? I’m going to ask you this. James, if you were looking for a dog trainer in Tulsa… I know that you’re not. But if you were, what would you search for in the Google search engines?

James:
I would look for “dog training near me.” Who’s the best?

Carl:
You would type in dog training near me.

James:
I would type in dog training Tulsa.

Carl:
Okay. Let me do it. I’m going to type in dog training Tulsa. Dog training. I’m doing it right now, folks. Dog training Tulsa. When I see the search results… We won’t mention the name of the companies. We won’t mention the name of the companies. But if you look here, you see who comes up top in the search results here. Then, once you found the companies that come up top in the search engine results, what would you do next there? If you’d gone to the website, what would you do, James?

James:
I would click on a couple of them. I would look at the reviews. I would see if their website makes me happy when I look at it. If it does, I would call up the company.

Carl:
Now, Jordan, you talk to people every day that are looking for a dog trainer.

Jordan:
Yep.

Carl:
What are the questions that most people are asking you when they’re looking for a Tulsa dog trainer?

Jordan:
When they’re looking for a dog trainer. Do you use shock collars? Do you do puppy training? Do you board dogs?

Carl:
These are the questions they ask you.

Jordan:
Yep. Group classes, group training, in-home training, what do you do?

Carl:
Well, let me walk everybody through what we do. Jordan, if there’s any follow-up questions that people ask you, you let me know. Okay?

Jordan:
Okay.

Carl:
James, feel free to interrogate me. Okay?

James:
All right.

Carl:
The first lesson we always do is 50 cents. The reason why is because we have a process, a mindset, a strategy that we use called focused-based positive reinforcement training. Now, what that means is that we want to get your dog’s attention. We also want to be a positive reinforcement experience so that your dog actually enjoys the experience. Now, there are dog trainers out there. Sadly, there are some that are borderline aggressive/violent with your dog. Then, your dog comes back maybe well-trained. But it loses its personality. We don’t want the dog to lose its personality en route to becoming well-behaved. We don’t want to verbally or physically abuse said dog. We provide the first lesson for 50 cents so people can check out the dog training experience before they decide to invest their hard-earned money. What other follow-up questions, Jordan, do people have for you about the Tulsa dog training services that we offer?

Jordan:
Tulsa. How much does it cost?

Carl:
How much does it cost? Now again, it’s 50 cents for the first lesson. Now, after that, we have a situation… We’re set up where we will beat any competitor’s price on a comparative service. If you shopped around and you find, “Hey, this guy on the street charges XYZ/1, 2, 3,” we’ll be happy to beat their price/to match their price. Back in the day, with Walmart, you could bring in an advertisement from a competitor, and they would match the price or beat the price. That’s the kind of thing that we can do. Really, price, with our clients, is not a huge consideration on the repeat business because they all know that we’re going to work with them on the budget.

Jordan, any other questions that people have? Because you talk to at least three or four people a day that are looking for a Tulsa dog trainer. We’re trying to help people find the best dog training Tulsa, Oklahoma, has to offer.

Jordan:
Yeah. Another question I get is, can I leave my dog with you at your facility and have you train it just because I don’t have any time to do it?

Carl:
Oh, yeah. That’s the big value of the board and train. So many people say, “I’ve got more time than money.” James, have you ever met somebody who’s a doctor?

Jordan:
I have.

Carl:
What are they typically making their money doing?

Jordan:
They make their money work for them.

Carl:
The doctors… They get paid to see patients. They exchange their time for money. The only way that they can train a dog is they have to pay somebody else to train the dog for them, or they have to not see patients so they can train dogs. In their case, they have more money than they have time. That’s why a lot of doctors tend to also invest in real estate and these sorts of things because you want to get your money working for you.

Now, there are certain people out there that have more money than time. If that is you, I might recommend that you train your own dog. But if you’re out there today and you’re saying, “I have a 40-hour-a-week job. I don’t have time to dramatically alter my lifestyle to train my dog.” That’s why I recommend that you would go to makeyourdogepic.com, makeyourdogepic.com, and schedule that first dog training lesson for 50 cents.

Jordan, any other question that people are asking you? Because, again, you talk to wonderful people. Can you think back? Can you flashback to your most recent dog training customer that you talked to? What were they asking you?

Jordan:
The most recent one, I don’t remember.

Carl:
You don’t remember?

James:
I’ve got one.

Carl:
Why don’t you remember? Let’s remember all of them. Okay, James.

James:
How long does the training last for the dog?

Carl:
For the dog? How long is it effective?

James:
Right.

Carl:
Oh, well, what happens is after we train your dog, we offer ongoing group lessons for dogs. You could bring your dog for a refresher.

James:
Oh, nice.

Carl:
A lot of people want to bring their dog for a refresher. Some people want to do it every couple of months. I mean, occasionally, somebody wants to do it every five minutes. But we schedule a time in the calendar for monthly retraining. If your dog needs a freshen-up, it’s like shooting free throws. It’s how long will you be good at shooting free throws after you’ve gone to a free throw shooting clinic. I mean, you got to keep shooting the free throws. After we train the dog, we teach you, as the dog owner, how to guide your dog down the path to good behavior. Then, you, as the owner, just have to stay engaged with the dog. But if you need to freshen up or you need a catch-up, all you got to do is go to makeyourdogepic.com for the life of the dog. Now, I don’t want you to clone the dog, James. James, have you heard about the dog cloning game?

James:
I have. I remember hearing JT talk about that. It’s a sick game.

Carl:
Jordan, have you heard of the dog cloning game?

Jordan:
I have heard in different words. Yes.

Carl:
There are people out there cloning dogs. I don’t want anybody saying, “Man, the dog trainings that you provided me at Make Your Dog Epic was so great that I want to just clone my dog so I can get continual free dog training.” I don’t want you cloning your second or third dog because although your dog may look the same, we’re going to know whether we’ve trained that dog or not before. James, I don’t want anybody cloning that dog. James, is it disturbing to you that people are cloning dogs?

James:
Yeah. It’s just wild to think about that people are actually cloning their dogs.

Jordan:
Just get a new one, man.

Carl:
Jordan, have you thought about that as the profundity of… What about chipping dogs? What are your thoughts on chipping dogs? I’m serious. Chipping dogs. A lot of people are chipping their dogs, and a lot of people are cloning their dogs. Do you have any concerns about this?

Jordan:
What?

Carl:
I’m being serious.

Jordan:
They’re chipping their dogs. Are they going to-

Carl:
They’re putting a microchip in their dog, and people are cloning their dog. James, you’ve seen it.

James:
I’ve seen that. You know what? They want to chip the dogs. The next person they’re going to chip is going to be your little kid.

Carl:
Oh, come on.

Jordan:
Yeah. They’re going to-

Carl:
They’re not going to do that, James.

Jordan:
Are we going to train little kids after that?

Carl:
Listen. Stay on the subject. Unbelievable.

Jordan:
Sorry. Sorry. Dogs.

Carl:
Well, we’re trying to… I’m just asking you. I mean, is it concerning to you, or are you okay with it? Do you like the idea of dog clothing, Jordan? You’re saying hard pass. I’m not going to do it.

Jordan:
I think that that goes back to changing the personality because, like you said earlier, there’s a million different dog trainers out there that drastically will change your dog’s personality. Maybe give it PTSD. Dog PTSD.

Carl:
Is this a real thing?

Jordan:
I don’t know. But maybe it is. That’s why they lose their personality. That’s what cloning will do.

Carl:
Now, folks, if you want to schedule that first lesson for a dollar, all you got to do is go to makeyourdogepic.com. You might speak to Jordan or myself, or James. You never know. But I can tell you this. Then, we’re going to schedule a time for you to meet with a very competent and confident Tulsa dog trainer. They’re going to coach your dog, mentor your dog, train your dog in a way that your dog’s going to come back as a well-behaved dog without changing the dog’s personality. You’re absolutely going to love it. If you don’t, you’re out 50 cents. Because the first lesson, James, is how much? 50 cents. James, as we like to say here at the Make Your Dog Epic Tulsa podcast, I’ll talk to you in five minutes.

James:
All righty.

Carl:
Is your dog and furry friend holding you hostage? Will your dog not stop pulling on its leash and eating your sausage? Who wrote that? Well, I don’t mean to brag, but I actually wrote it. Wow. It rhymes. People dig it, like a dog. You get it?

James:
Okay.

Carl:
I’m just going to keep reading. Will your dog not stop jumping on you or pooping in your house like you’re on the set of Jumanji or living in a zoo? It only took me two weeks to write that line while sitting at the base of a waterfall, while gazing upon my epic dog. The dog that once held me hostage was now my best friend.

James:
It’s so good.

Carl:
The dog that would never listen was now all ears.

James:
It’s so good. I just want to cry.

Carl:
Pull yourself together, man. And if you two want to transform your dog from a furry terrorist into your best friend, what you need to do is schedule your first lesson at makeyourdogepic.com, where your first lesson is always just 50 cents. With the savings, you can use that to pay the rent.

Again, your first lesson is always just 50 cents at makeyourdogepic.com. Wow. Stop the endless barking. Reduce the aggressive behaviors. Prevent dog jumping. Stop your dog from chasing the elderly UPS driver as he attempts to deliver a package. Stop your dog from biting Pam, your yoga pants-wearing neighbor, as she just attempts to speed walk in peace. Stop your dog from eating your wife’s wedding dress and peeing your closet on top of your Christmas gifts. Stop the madness at makeyourdogepic.com.

Experience the revolutionary focused-based positive reinforcement training and methodology. Our goal is dog obedience, but never at the expense of dog personality. It’s the same dog, but now it’s all ears.

Jordan:
Wow.

James:
Man, Carl. You are a talented vocal artist.

Carl:
Well, well.

James:
I can feel the passion. It’s contagious.

Carl:
Well, my friend, I am passionate about the product. I once went 60 days without sleeping.

James:
Really?

Carl:
My wife’s wedding dress got eaten, and my neighbor Pam was bitten by my dog.

James:
Oh, man.

Carl:
My quality of life was at an all-time low. I didn’t invite people over to my home for months because of the new dog. I always smelled like urine.

James:
You do still smell a little bit like dog urine. Just a little.

Carl:
Well, I made my dog epic. I was hostage. That’s where the passion comes from. You’ve got to believe in your product, and you’ve got to project from the diaphragm.

James:
The diaphragm.

Carl:
You got to bend your knees.

James:
Bend the knees. Bend the knees.

Carl:
Drink ginger.

James:
Drink the ginger.

Carl:
You’ve got to ingest apple cider vinegar.

James:
Apple cider vinegar.

Carl:
With a dog bone. You want to chew on the dog bone before-

James:
Hard pass. I’m not going to-

Carl:
….recording so that you can emulate the dog, and you should listen to Atomic Dog.

James:
I can do that.

Carl:
But you’re not a dog. But you want to just chew on the bone. Get the oversized bone, not the regular-sized bone.

James:
Hard pass. It’s weird.

Carl:
You want to-

James:
Not going to chew on the bone.
