Clay (00:01):
Yes, James, welcome back to the Make Your Dog Epic Tulsa Dog Training podcast.

James (00:07):
Oh yeah.

Clay (00:08):
And James, I’m fired up. I’ll tell you this, folks, a lot of people, they don’t want to talk about dog training. They might view it as a tedious thing. But you know what? We love talking about Tulsa dog training, and specifically James. James, did you know that I’m the author of the book Make Your Dog Epic? Did you know that?

James (00:24):
I did know that.

Clay (00:25):
Really?

James (00:26):
Oh yeah.

Clay (00:26):
It’s a book about building an epic bond and understanding your dog’s training journey. By me. James, I’m pretty excited about it. Have you read the book yet?

James (00:36):
I haven’t read it, but I-

Clay (00:37):
Why have you not read it? It’s an incredible book. I mean, it’s the kind of book that could change your life. It might not, but it could. And James, just shifting gears, if it’s possible. I mean, I’m so excited about the book here. We’re talking about puppy training, Tulsa puppy training. Now, a lot of people say, “I don’t know whether I need to hire a professional trainer to train my puppy. I think I might not hire a trainer.” James, if you had a puppy, would you train your puppy, or would you just say, “Let that thing train itself, baby”?

James (01:09):
Oh no, I’m going to do everything I can to teach that puppy to pee and poo outside. That’s the first thing that you got to do. It’s got to go outside.

Clay (01:17):
Would you hire a pro trainer, or would you just say, “You know what? I’m going to hack away and see what happens”?

James (01:21):
Well, it really depends on how bad it’s going in the house. If it’s going all the time, every time, man, I’m calling, Make Your Dog Epic so I can get my dog to become epic.

Clay (01:31):
Well, James, I appreciate that. Now, again, folks, the first lesson is always 50 cents. If you’re looking to train your puppy, if you’re looking for Tulsa puppy training, that’s what we do here at Make Your Dog Epic. Now, James, I’m going to give you page three of my book, okay? And I’m going to read page two of my book here. Again, this is my new book called Make Your Dog Epic. I wrote here on page two, “Happy pawlidays.” You see what I did right there?

James (01:51):
That’s pretty good.

Clay (01:52):
“Behold an epic, mind-expanding dog training festival of literary wonder.”

James (01:57):
Wow.

Clay (01:58):
James, read page three.

James (01:59):
That’s brilliant.

Clay (01:59):
You got some stellar endorsements here. Stellar.

James (02:01):
So, Clay, this is from Robert Kiyosaki. He’s like, “Clay, you’ve become an influencer. More than anything else, you have evolved into an influencer, where your word has more and more power. As you know, there is a lot of fake influencers out there. I’m glad that you and I agree so much. You are on it, man. Everybody, listen to this guy. He knows what he’s talking about.”

Clay (02:24):
That’s Robert Kiyosaki, bestselling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, a book that changed my life. If you’re out there today and you want to learn how to become a successful entrepreneur, I cannot recommend the book rich Dad’s Guide to Investing More, and the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. And again, folks, even though we’re talking about here the idea of puppy training today, we’re talking about this idea of puppy training, we really always are talking about entrepreneurship. So, James, move on to the next notable quotable here.

James (02:51):
So we have NBA MVP David Robinson, and he said, “Clay Clark is an entrepreneur extraordinaire.”

Clay (02:59):
Oh, thank you, David Robinson, a San Antonio Spurs great. What else do we have here?

James (03:03):
We have Jim Stovall, and he said, “He’s like Steve Martin meets Steve Forbes.”

Clay (03:09):
Oh, thank you, best-selling author, Jim Stovall. Every time I get depressed, I just read these encouraging words, and I go, “Okay, I’m fired up now.” Let’s keep going there, James.

James (03:18):
All right, next is Michael Levine, and he said, “For the last two years, I have come to Clay Clark’s ThriveTime Show conference and seminar, and I must say that I didn’t know what to expect at first, but it’s exceptional. If you are serious, and I mean really serious about your career, your entrepreneurship, and your wealth creation ability, I strongly, strongly implore you to come to Tulsa, invest the two days. It will change your life. It’s quite extraordinary, and I’m a tough grader.” Michael Levine.

Clay (03:49):
Michael Levine. This guy was the PR consultant of choice for Michael Jackson, for Prince, for Nike, for Pizza Hut, for George Bush, for Bill Clinton, all at the same time. This is before we knew what we know now.

James (04:02):
This guy knows his stuff.

Clay (04:03):
He knows his stuff. Now we move on to page four of the book Make Your Dog Epic. Really, it’s a page-turner, I’ll tell you that. It’s a page-turner. Okay, so Michael Gerber, the best-selling author of the book E-Myth Revisited, he says, “The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives, passively waiting to see where life takes them. The difference between the two is living fully and just existing.”

(04:30)
I can tell you this, today we’re not going to let Make Your Dog Epic drift. No, we’re going to record today. And I want people to know this. This is very important for people to know. We faithfully record podcasts here. In fact, James, we’re going to finish podcast 57 today. It’s going to be podcast 57 today. People say, “Fifty-seven dog training podcasts?” Oh yeah. And you know why, James? Because the people want to know what’s included in the Tulsa puppy training. They want to know. And in the book, Make Your Dog Epic, we teach people that, and we teach you also in the first lessons we do. We’ll show you as well. It’s 50 cents for the first lesson.

(05:06)
Now, James, for people out there that are going, “Man, I’m thinking about scheduling that first lesson, but I kind of want to read this book, Make Your Dog Epic. I hear it’s hot. I mean, the guy who wrote it is selling that thing like it’s going out of style,” James, read the table of contents here, if you can here, for the new book, the new smash hit sensation, again, the book called Make Your Dog Epic.

James (05:28):
All right, here we go. Well, first we have the introduction, which is a note from the founders. Then chapter one, The Power of the Weekly Meeting: Dependability is the Most Important Ability.

Clay (05:39):
That’s important, because if you run a Make Your Dog Epic licensed location, you got to honor your commitments. If a customer says, “Hey, what time are you going to be there?” and you say, “I’m going to be there at 2:00 to train your dog,” we’ve got to be there regardless of whether it’s rain, snow, fog, any kind of… We have to be there, James, because dependability is the most important ability. Next, James.

James (06:02):
Chapter two, Tracking: Why We Must Measure What We Treasure.

Clay (06:11):
Tracking: Why We Must Measure What We Treasure. It’s very important that we do that, because, James, if you don’t track the numbers, you’re not going to know what’s working or not. What’s chapter three about, James?

James (06:21):
Don’t Reinvent the Wheel: Follow the Proven Processes and Success Systems.

Clay (06:27):
We have systems in place for puppy training. We’re not hacking away. We’re not hacking away, throwing out ideas. We have a system we have called focused-based positive reinforcement training. It’s revolutionary. And I’ll tell you this, people are excited about it, and if you want to see the training system in person, in person, you just go to makeyourdogepic.com, you schedule that first Tulsa puppy training. Back to you, James.

James (06:49):
Chapter four, The Carrot and Focus: Focus on Core Tasks Until Success Philosophy.

Clay (06:56):
You got to have a carrot and a stick. You just have to have a carrot. You got to have a carrot. If you’re going to go out there and get anybody to be excited to do anything in the game of business, there has to be a reward, James, although some people have said that just reading this book itself is a reward, but we’ll continue.

James (07:11):
Got to beat that hook. All right, chapter five, The BOOM Method Explained: Big Expectations, Overwhelming, Encouraging, Optimistic, and Consistent Feedback, and More Repetition Until Mastery Occurs.

Clay (07:25):
That’s how you train a dog. Can you read the BOOM method one more time? This is how you train a dog, James. B stands for-

James (07:33):
Big expectations.

Clay (07:34):
You got to have expectations that this Tulsa puppy training is going down and it’s going to be worth it. This dog is going to be revolutionized. This dog is going to be transformed. This dog is going to feel so good. It’ll be so excited that people will want this dog to star in a movie. But you know what? The dog’s not available to star in the movie. You know why? ‘Cause it’s your dog, James. Keep going.

James (07:55):
You need overwhelming encouragement.

Clay (07:58):
Yeah, you got to overwhelmingly encourage the dog. You can’t just say, “Hey, White Fang, Fido…” You can’t just say one time, “White Fang, this is how you do it.” No, no. You got to encourage that thing. It’s got to be overwhelming encouragement.

James (08:10):
Then you need optimistic and consistent feedback.

Clay (08:13):
You got to be optimistic. You can’t be negative to the dog. The dog’s looking for positivity. You can’t be a negative dog trainer. You got to bring the positivity, James.

James (08:21):
And then you have to more repetition until mastery occurs.

Clay (08:26):
More repetition. You got to have more repetition, over and over and over, until the dog is absolutely well-behaved. Now, James, I know a lot of our listeners are mesmerized right now, and they’re all going, “Please tell me more.” Folks, here’s the deal. I can’t tell you more on this podcast. I want to. I want to do it, but I just can’t. You know why, James? Because we only have a limited period of time on these podcasts to get out the information about how to train a dog. So if you’re out there looking for Tulsa puppy training, you’ve come to the right spot. And James, we like to say here on the Make Your Dog Epic Tulsa Dog Training podcast, we like to end every show by saying what, James?

James (08:59):
Hey, we’ll see you in five minutes, Clay.

Carl (09:01):
Is your dog and furry friend holding you hostage?

Clay (09:04):
Will your dog not stop pulling on its leash and eating your sausage? Who wrote that?

Carl (09:10):
Well, I don’t mean to brag, but I actually wrote it and wow, it rhymes. People dig it, like a dog. You get it?

Clay (09:18):
Okay, so I’m just going to keep reading. Will your dog not stop jumping on you or pooping in your house like you’re on the set of Jumanji or living in a zoo?

Carl (09:27):
It only took me two weeks to write that line while sitting at the base of a waterfall while gazing upon my epic dog. The dog that once held me hostage was now my best friend.

Clay (09:38):
It’s so good.

Carl (09:39):
The dog that would never listen was now all ears.

Clay (09:43):
It’s so good. I just want to cry.

Carl (09:45):
Pull yourself together, man. And if you too want to transform your dog from a furry terrorist into your best friend, what you need to do is schedule your first lesson at makeyourdogepic.com, where your first lesson is always just 50 cents. And with the savings, you can use that to pay the rent. Again, your first lesson is always just 50 cents at makeyourdogepic.com.

Clay (10:08):
Wow.

Carl (10:10):
Stop the endless barking. Reduce the aggressive behaviors. Prevent dog jumping. Stop your dog from chasing the elderly UPS driver as he attempts to deliver a package. Stop your dog from biting Pam, your yoga-pants-wearing neighbor, as she just attempts to speed walk in peace. Stop your dog from eating your wife’s wedding dress and peeing in your closet on top of your Christmas gifts. Stop the madness at makeyourdogepic.com. Experience the revolutionary focus-based positive reinforcement training and methodology. Our goal is dog obedience, but never at the expense of dog personality. It’s the same dog, but now it’s all ears.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Wow.

Clay (10:53):
Man, Carl, you are a talented vocal artist. I can feel the passion. It’s contagious.

Carl (11:02):
Well, my friend, I am passionate about the product. I once went 60 days without sleeping.

Clay (11:08):
Really?

Carl (11:09):
My wife’s wedding dress got eaten, and my neighbor Pam was bitten by my dog, and my quality of life was at a all-time low. I didn’t invite people over to my home for months because of the new dog, and I always smelled like urine.

Clay (11:23):
You do still smell a little bit like dog urine. Just a little.

Carl (11:27):
I made my dog epic. I was hostage. That’s where the passion comes from. You’ve got to believe in your product, and you’ve got to project from the diaphragm.

Clay (11:34):
The diaphragm.

Carl (11:35):
You going to bend your knees.

Clay (11:37):
Bend the knees, bend the knees.

Carl (11:38):
Drink ginger.

Clay (11:39):
Drink the ginger.

Carl (11:40):
You’ve got to ingest apple cider vinegar.

Clay (11:42):
Apple cider. I can do that.

Carl (11:44):
With a dog bone. You want chew on the dog bone before the-

Clay (11:46):
Hard pass. I’m not gonna-

Carl (11:48):
… recording so that you can emulate the dog. And you should listen to Atomic Dog.

Clay (11:53):
I can do that.

Carl (11:54):
But you’re not a dog, but you want to just chew on the bone, the oversized bone, not the regular-sized bone.

Clay (12:00):
Hard pass. Not going to chew on the bone.
