Clay Clark (00:01):
All right, welcome back to the Make Your Dog Epic podcast. My name is Clay Clark. I am the author of the book, Make Your Dog Epic. And I’m here talking to you today about what should you start training your dogs? What should you start training your Tulsa dogs? What specific things should you start training your dogs? Should you start training your dogs? Well, what I find here, at Make Your Dog Epic, is that a lot of people, they reach out to us because they have a dog that’s eating through their trash. They have a dog that’s digging massive holes incessantly in the yard. They have a dog that will not stop growling at the neighbors. They have a dog that bites adults. They have a dog that’s attempting to eat your children’s toys. They have a dog that’s fighting with other dogs. They have a dog that really, they just don’t have the behavior control they’d like to have.

(00:55)
And so their dog is now chasing after joggers. Their dog is chasing after their chickens they have in their backyard. Their dog is beginning to chase away mail carriers. And what’s happening is, that the people that are out there who own these dogs, they begin to become reclusive individuals because it’s not a pleasant experience to invite somebody over to your home when you have a dog that is behaving like a terrorist. Nobody wants to be held hostage by their dog. And so that’s the kind of thing that we do. Those are the kinds of problems that we solve at Make Your Dog Epic Dog Training and Tulsa Dog training. So we’re going to read here from page seven of my newest book, Make Your Dog Epic, titled A Note from the Founder.

(01:41)
I want to give you this short book to all of our wonderful clients. I want to give this short book to all of our wonderful clients, locations, and hardworking owners because I believe that it’s important to be extremely transparent about how we train Tulsa dogs and my proven philosophy on how we run a Tulsa dog training business.

(02:00)
Whether you’re a client seeking our expertise or a dedicated Make Your Dog Epic employee in training, a committed Make Your Dog Epic owner or simply, an eager learner looking to dive into the world of dog training, know this. Our unwavering mission revolves around one singular goal, creating well-behaved joyful dogs, alongside their equally joyful Tulsa dog owners. No one dog is the same and no one owner is the same. This is why we offer our first dog training lesson for just 50 cents. We want you to figure out what it will take to get your dog to your goals, and we want you to be able to experience our training methodology, which we call the focused based positive reinforcement training system for just 50 cents.

(02:50)
What’s the value in a dog’s obedience, by the way, if it comes at the expense of a dog’s happiness? Think about this for a second. We want your dog to be well-trained, but we also want your dog to be happy. We don’t want to mess with your dog’s personality en route to making your dog more obedient. We want your dog to become obedient and to be a happy dog. Our goal is obedience, but never at the expense of your dog’s personality. And there are many ways to train a Tulsa dog and there’s no regulatory body over Tulsa dog training in the United States. So it’d be the equivalent to being a doctor, but not needing to go to school or aspiring to be a lawyer, but allowing the Bar exam to be voluntary.

(03:32)
Folks, dog training is an industry where there’s a lot of great trainers and there’s a lot of bad trainers, just like in any industry. However, the dog training industry is not regulated. Basically, the point is, that when it comes to Tulsa dog training certifications, experience doesn’t mean anything because there’s no governing body over certifications and they could have just been doing it wrong for the past 20 years and received a certificate for doing it wrong. Just because you have experience in something doesn’t mean it’s good experience. What matters is, that you as a dog trainer can produce happy customers and that’s what we do at Make Your Dog Epic Tulsa Dog Training. We pride ourselves on having the happiest clients that leave raving reviews and testimonials about the Tulsa dog training services that we provide. That’s all that matters to us. As a trainer or licensee with Make Your Dog Epic, our number one goal is happy dogs and happy dog training clients.

(04:28)
So in this short guide to Tulsa dog training, I will teach our dog training standards and workflow that we actually use to run our business. For anybody out there that doesn’t know about my background, I’m the co-founder of Five Kids, the former USSBA Entrepreneur of the Year for the state of Oklahoma, the founder of several multi-million dollar companies and the host of the ThriveTime Show podcast, which has been number one on the iTunes Business podcast charts six times. And I’ve been a member of the Forbes Business Coach Council and Amazon bestselling author and the host of the ThriveTime Show podcast for many, many years, which has actually hit number one on iTunes in the category of business six times.

(05:09)
So, throughout my career, I’ve co-founded several successful businesses including DJ Connection.com, which I founded solely, epicphotos.com, EITR Lounge, that’s a men’s grooming lounge. Make Your Life Epic.com, Party Perfect, which was purchased by Party Pro. I also helped to co-found Tiptop Canine Licensing. I did not start Tiptop Canine, the local Tulsa dog training business, but I did help to co-found the Tiptop Canine Licensing business. I also started Thrive Fifteen.com, the online education platform, and I started the Tulsa Bridal Association, then went on to start the Tulsa Bridal Association Wedding Show.

(05:53)
And I could spend most of your day, most of my day, listing off business projects that I’ve been involved in and helped to work with. But if you want to learn more about those, you just go to ThriveTimeshow.com, ThriveTimeshow.com, and there you will see countless examples of the businesses that I’ve helped to build and scale throughout the years. Now, throughout my career, I’ve been featured in Fast Company, Bloomberg, Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Pando Daily, and numerous other publications. And I’ve been the speaker and consultant of choice for top brands throughout the country, including Hewlett Packard, Maytag University, Valspar Paint, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Oxi Fresh and other brands that you know, including UPS. I’m also the co-founder, as I mentioned, of five kids, the proud owner of thousands of trees, dozens of chickens, 13 cats, and one dog by the name of Davis.

(06:43)

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Is your dog and furry friend holding you hostage? Will your dog not stop pulling on its leash and eating your sausage? Who wrote that? Well, I don’t mean to brag, but I actually wrote it and wow, it rhymes. People dig it, like a dog. You get it? Okay, so I’m just going to keep reading. Will your dog not stop jumping on you or pooping in your house like you’re on the set of Jumanji or living in a zoo? It only took me two weeks to write that line while sitting at the base of a waterfall while gazing upon my epic dog. The dog that once held me hostage was now my best friend. It’s so good.

(08:54)
The dog that would never listen was now all ears. It’s so good, I just want to cry. Pull yourself together, man. And if you two want to transform your dog from a furry terrorist into your best friend, what you need to do is, schedule your first lesson at makeyourdogepic.com, where your first lesson is always just 50 cents. And with the savings, you can use that to pay the rent. Again, your first lesson is always just 50 cents at makeyourdogepic.com. Wow. Stop the endless barking, reduce the aggressive behaviors, prevent dog jumping. Stop your dog from chasing the elderly UPS driver as he attempts to deliver a package. Your dog from biting Pam, your yoga pants wearing neighbor as she just attempts to speed walk in peace. Stop your dog from eating your wife’s wedding dress and being in your closet on top of your Christmas gifts. Stop the madness at makeyourdogepic.com. Experience the revolutionary focus-based positive reinforcement training and methodology. Our goal is dog obedience, but never at the expense of dog personality. It’s the same dog, but now it’s all ears. Wow.

Clay Clark (10:08):
Man, Clark, you are a talented vocal artist. Well, well… I can sense it, I can feel the passion. It’s contagious.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Well, my friend, I am passionate about the product. I once went 60 days without sleeping.

Clay Clark (10:23):
Really?

Speaker 2 (10:24):
My wife’s wedding dress got eaten and my neighbor Pam was bitten by my dog. And-

Clay Clark (10:29):
Oh, man.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
My quality of life was at an all time low. I actually, I didn’t invite people over to my home for months because of the new dog. And I always smelled like urine.

Clay Clark (10:38):
You do still smell a little bit like dog urine. Just a little.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
That’s why I made my dog epic. I was hostage and that’s where the passion comes from. You’ve got to believe in your product and you’ve got to project from the diaphragm.

Clay Clark (10:50):
The diaphragm.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
To bend your knees…

Clay Clark (10:52):
Bend the knees, bend the knees.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
… drink ginger.

Clay Clark (10:54):
Drink the ginger.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
You’ve got to ingest apple cider vinegar-

Clay Clark (10:57):
Apple cider vinegar, I can do that.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
… with a dog bone. You want to chew on the dog bone, avoid the [inaudible 00:11:02].

Clay Clark (11:01):
Hard pass. I’m not going to-

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Recording so that you can emulate the dog and you should listen to Atomic Dog.

Clay Clark (11:01):
I can do that.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
But you’re not a dog but you-

Clay Clark (11:01):
Right.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
You want to just chew on the bone. The oversized bone, not the regular sized bone [inaudible 00:11:02].

Clay Clark (11:02):
Hard pass. Not going to chew on the bone.
